It was with great sadness that I learned of Walters passing on October 12. As as friend of Ruth from her University of Bradford days I came to know Walter over the years.It did not take long to realise that he was an exceptional person. It was always a pleasure to converse with Walter and he wore his very learned intelligence so lightly. There were oceans of kindness, understanding and compassion behind his merry eyes. He will be so sadly missed. Heartfelt sympathy to his beloved Ruth and to his son, daughter, grandchildren and extended family.
